Running CaFE as a Process

The CaFE resources can be run as a flexible process designed to help parishes create:

Discipleship - Helping Catholics to get more enthusiastic about their faith in Jesus Christ.

Community - Creating and nourishing small groups where people can share and grow together.

Evangelisation - Empowering Catholics to make more of a difference in the world around them.

A short Team Training course  is available to give people the confidence and the skills to run CaFE effectively.  Once training is completed it is time to start Module 1a  Knowing God BetterThis course should be run in such a way that people can come without feeling they have to commit to a whole course. Each evening is an event in itself, but hopefully having enjoyed one evening people will come back for the rest of the series. This can be followed by Module 1b Knowing God even Better which should be run along the same lines as the first module.

Module 2 is Exploring the Catholic Church. This series helps people understand the Catholic faith more deeply. During this series guests remain together in small groups beginning the development of faith sharing communities within the parish.

Module 3 is Catholics Making a Difference. These talks encourage Catholics to make more of a difference
through works, witness and words. During this module some groups may well begin to meet in homes.

For Module 4 the groups are encouraged to respond practically to the challenge of the New Evangelisation by running a reaching out module. Pass it On gives practical evangelisation training as preparation for this. There are many resources that could be used; Parents, the Alpha Course, Youth CaFE, or re-running Knowing God Better at this time for a different audience.
