Parents need guidance and support as they strive to bring up their children within the Church the CaFE resources below can help.

This very accessible series aims to encourage parents to consider the spirituality of their children. It is a moving and humorous look at, not only how parents can teach their children, but how they can learn from the simplicity of a childlike faith. It can be used as an excellent way to encourage parents to take a deeper look at their own journey of faith. Three of the talks look at Baptism, Reconciliation and the Mass.

Baptism

An engaging series which uses a variety of ways to unwrap this Sacrament. Teaching from Archbishop Vincent Nichols is complemented with: commentary from David Payne (a parent of three children) , the hopes and concerns of parents, and humour from infant school children. Parents watching have been surprised by the modern approach to the filming of this video course and are challenged by its teaching. Many parishes are also using sections of this for preparation for first Holy Communion and Reconciliation and is also being used in schools.

Parents Course

An enjoyable modern media course designed to inform, inspire
and stir discussion amongst parents. It is easy to use and includes
flexible material on video/DVD for two to four sessions and includes
a comprehensive Leader’s Guide and sample Parents’ Booklets.
The course includes input from Mgr John Armitage
(Vicar General, Brentwood Diocese), parents and children
and Jenny Baker from CaFE (Catholic Faith Exploration).
