Plugged in - Youth CaFE
is about reaching young people where they're at.

Cardinal Cormac Murphy O'Connor on evangelisation

"The churches have the task of transposing the essence of the gospel message, without the slightest betrayal of its essential truth, into the language of the people. It loses much of its effectiveness if it does not use their language, their signs, their symbols, if it does not answer the questions they ask and impact their concrete lives.... We must reshape with boldness"

Pope Paul VI Evangelisation in the Modern World.

"Fr. Stan…he knows how to speak in our generations language – slang and stuff."

Ritchie, Yr 10.

Avril Baigent

The Y Church Report/a>

In a church that's losing young people to a spiritual search outside of the faith, or a complete disillusionment, there is an urgency about proclaiming the gospel in the language of generation Y.

There are certain things we need to be aware of when working with young people in  faith context. Generation Y don’t necessarily see and experience the world as we do.

The Catholic Evangelisation Services research before producing ‘Plugged In Youth CaFE', was particularly based on the Y Church Report (Avril Baigent, 2002-2003).
